Teams participating are from BAC along with Apple Valley (VAA), Lakeville, Shapokee, Prior Lake, and Bloomington. Games may be hosted by all these organizations.
Please signup using the link at the top of the page if you are considering refereeing then you will be included in emails concerning training sessions, games and general information.
Referee clinic:
1 pm to 2:45 pm on 11/16 at Burnsville HS. This is intended for all high school aged referees along with any inexperienced adult aged referees.
Clinic information:
Please have a whistle, comfortable clothes and gym shoes.
Meet at the gym next to the concession stand to check in with Roy Green. The first part of the training is to observe the games being played. These are 7th - 12th graders games which is not what you'll be doing to start but there are several lessons to be learned by observation.
Court Placement: Referees should always be opposite each other or kiddie corner from each other. During live action, they should not be standing down the middle line of the court (under the basket, center circle, etc.).
Observe how the referees move up and down the court switch positions. How do they stop action? How to they communicate with the scores table and coaches?
Once the games are over then Gene, Jill, Ryan and Roy will over the basics.
