The K-2 Program is a training program, building the basics of basketball so your child has the skills they need when they join a team in 3rd grade. At each practice/clinic we will run drills, work on ball handling, and learn the basics. As our practices continue, we will run some scrimmages.
This program is for boys in grades K-2. Players will be split into smaller groups, by age, and practice for about 1 hour twice a week. Practices will begin in early January, and go through end of February.
A few things to note:
This is NOT a drop-off program, and we do ask that a parent or guardian stay on site during our practices.
You do not need to have official basketball shoes, however, because the outside is typically wet during our season we do ask that your child have a clean, dry pair of shoes to wear on the court. This means they should wear different shoes or boots to and from the car. A wet court is a dangerous court.
Please make sure your child has a water bottle, clearly marked with their name.
BAC will provide each player in the K-2 program with a basketball. Please mark the basketball clearly with the player's name and bring the basketball to every practice. At this age, we are using a 27.5" ball.
Most of our clinics are run by the High School Basketball staff and players, but we may need some parent volunteers to help during some of our sessions.
Your registration and registrations payment must be made by Jan 3rd, in order to be placed on a team or join the sessions.
