Our league teaches your child the sport of lacrosse through skill development at practices and games. At practices, we focus on skills and drills as well as small group scrimmaging. In games, players will get hands-on knowledge through on the bench coaching and from the umpires as well. Team building and good sportsmanship are an essential part of the game of lacrosse! Most importantly, we will have FUN!
Our goal is to develop better athletes through lacrosse. Our priority is safety, skills development, and the teaching of character development and life lessons through lacrosse.
Our program promotes the importance of good sportsmanship, teamwork, leadership, and integrity. We believe learning both success and failure through competition will benefit our players and grow the game of lacrosse!
Lacrosse is a fun and fast sport which is great for active kids!

Eligibility & Player Ages
This league is open to all residents and all youth in 2nd-8th grades (US Lacrosse Guidelines) enrolled in the Burnsville School District #191. Players from neighboring communities with no lacrosse league are welcome to waiver in.
NEW in 2019 is our Co-Op with Apple Valley! We are combining teams with the Valley Athletic Association (VAA) to form combined teams whose mascot is the Firehawks! These players still register through VAA, but all aspects of the program are shared. Fees are the same through each program.
At present we offer co-ed teams for both boys and girls. We play using boys rules and equipment. We do not have the numbers to offer a separate girls lacrosse program, but if we did, we would eagerly offer this opportunity.
New players are welcome to join our program at any age; we commonly have new players starting in every team level. Teams are currently offered at 8U, 10U, 12U and 14U. Beyond 8th grade, prep or JV teams may be available through High Schools.
Team levels are based on US Lacrosse Age Guidelines age chart for US Lacrosse . You can play "up" into an older age group with coach permission, but you can't play in a younger age group. Therefore, if there are not enough players for an 8U team, those players may be shifted up into the 10U team
We follow US Lacrosse rules and modifications approved by Youth Lacrosse Minnesota (YLM)
League - Youth Lacrosse Minnesota
The YLM (Youth Lacrosse of Minnesota) includes teams in the metropolitan area. Games are played throughout the metro area and begin in June. This league is for tall levels of players.Older age teams may be separated into A or B levels. The league has changed from being grade based to age based for the players. You are encouraged to check out the new YLM website and the age chart for US Lacrosse.
Association - US Lacrosse Association
It is MANDATORY that all participants be current members of the US Lacrosse Association. This provides insurance that only covers the individual if the entire team is a member of US Lacrosse. To see if you are a member or to join this association contact www.uslacrosse.org, click on Membership at the top left of the main page and select US Lacrosse Membership. Once there, you can APPLY, RENEW or SEARCH for your member number.
The Burnsville Lacrosse board is made up of volunteer parents just like you! We are always looking for new people to help us make Burnsville Lacrosse even better. If you are interested in finding out more about how you can help or what the board does come to one of our board meetings. Every Board meeting offers an opportunity to address the board and ask questions at the start of the meeting. Usually we meet on the 1st Sunday, 6:30pm at Buffalo Tap in Savage. (contact the
