COVID FAQ’s
My Child has a temperature, can he/she still practice or play in the game?
NO. Your child should remain home until they have no temperature for 24hrs, without fever reducing medications.
My child has been exposed to a person with COVID, what now?
We recommend (not require) they get a COVID test, and self-monitor for symptoms. They should be isolated from the team for 14 days from the date of the known positive case.
The COVID test my player took was Negative, can they return before 14 days?
NO. Your child should stay home for the full 14 days. This is due to, symptoms that may occur, at any time during the 14 day period.
My Child was in “Close Contact” with someone, what now?
This means you were within 6 ft of someone, who has a positive COVID test or is symptomatic, for a prolonged period of time (15 min or more). Your child should isolate for 14 days from others and self-monitor for symptoms. Child may return to practice after the 14-day period as long as they have no symptoms.
If you were contacted by your child’s school, and told to self-isolate and monitor for symptoms, please refrain from coming to any practice or games for 14 days from the date of known exposure.
Does my child have to wear a mask for practice?
Yes, a mask is required at all times in the gyms and when arriving/departure.
I am a Coach; Do I have to wear a mask?
Yes, you should wear a mask at all times. This means, upon arrival, departure and while coaching.
Will I be contacted if a person on the team has COVID?
If there is a positive case on your child’s team or on a team that you have played against, we are required by the MDH to notify you, that you or your player was in contact with someone with COVID. You may be notified by the BAC or by the MDH.
What measures are being taken to keep the players safe?
The BAC has taken several measures to keep everyone as safe as possible. Requiring masks, requiring self-checks before every practice and games, keeping 6ft distance whenever feasible, sanitizing all equipment before and after use, and having monitors at events to be sure that we are following all safety measures during the event.
Are parents allowed at practices/games?
Parents will not be allowed inside the gyms for practices to reduce the exposure to the players. Parents should wait in their cars or a separate area from others outside the gym. Parents may be allowed at some games; you should check with your child’s program as to having parents attending games.
Are you doing contact tracing?
Yes, we are keeping track of who is at practice and writing a list of attendees at all tournament and games.
